Press Release Body: PACIFIC BEACH, Calif., May 17, 2008. San Diego
based Pro-Active
Life Concepts has launched a new approach to mental health and wellness
targeting
the coastal community and beyond- alternative, holistic, activity
based life
coaching that yields immediate and long lasting benefits for the
person desiring a
higher level of balance, connection, and personal success. The majority
of people
live their lives amidst fears that can hold them back from having
positive life
experiences and instead suffer from a lack of health and wellness,
often manifesting
through physical and/or psychological symptoms.
Like a personal trainer for the body, mind, and spirit, this new
coaching approach
takes mental health outside of the office and into nature, a nearby
restaurant,
yoga studio, social gathering, and a variety of other locations
that allow clients
to face fears and achieve wellness. To address the rising need for
people seeking
to maximize their full potential Pro-Active Life Concepts was launched
to inspire
and promote change through the combination of activity and psychological
coaching.
This alternative approach was developed to fit the changing times
as more people
become aware of the importance of living a balanced life and the
need for learning
how to put these desires into practice. This active life coaching
approach
responds to the more progressive movement of people who put lifestyle
and health as
a priority for increased longevity, happiness, and fulfillment in
achieving goals
such as achieving a healthy work-family-life balance and living
an environmentally
conscious life. By combining physical activity and coaching, individuals
are
discovering passions that motivate and promote overall health and
wellness.
The physical health benefits of exercise are well established but
there is also
growing research evidence of links between physical activity and
mental health
benefits, including mood elevation, better cognitive functioning
and improved
self-perception, self-esteem and self-efficacy. Physical activity
has also been
shown to enhance the effectiveness of psychological therapies and
to have a role in
improving quality of life and symptom management for people with
a wide range of
mental health problems. Physical activity is now firmly established
as an approach
by which a variety of mental health problems may be improved, either
as a sole
intervention or in conjunction with other therapeutic options.
In providing an alternative approach to living a life fueled by
passion and
conscious awareness with a strong emphasis on activity, clients
engage in activities
that are challenging and which promote a higher level of personal
success and
fulfillment. Coaching can include any combination of hands on coaching
sessions and
workshops, phone coaching, as well as supplemental email support.
